 90% Wool 10% Cashmere 58 inches wide

To be sold in North Carolina - 1778  "plushes of different colours"
Plush was a soft faced wool, much like velvet dyed in all manner of colors and was a popular choice for breeches, waistcoats and winter jackets.  Worn by all social classes, it is documented in runaway accounts, in orders for livery, and tailors account books.  This plush matches other madder plush broadcloths we have found in our studies.  It is heavy enough for outerwear but soft enough for winter breeches, lady's capes, winter mitts, jackets and winter waistcoats.
