Originating in India and the Middle East and introduced to Europe as early as the 17th century, muslin was described as "delicately woven cotton fabric" Growing in popularity at the end of the 18th century and into the 19th century, muslin was considered highly desirable for its lightness, and ease of cleaning. Our fine muslin is made of a very fine yarn and is semi transparent. The stripe consists of a delicate figure seen in Ackermann plates.  Well suited for fine accessories such as caps, aprons and late 18th and early 19th century gowns as well as children's clothing.
