100% Irish Linen 60 inches wide

Linen cloth was woven of flax fiber in many grades and weaves.  Used in every aspect of living from clothing, to household needs to furnishings to the shroud made for the corpse, linen was so common that a tax was proposed as a source of easy revenue on the coarser sorts being imported into the US towards the end of the 18th century.  Green linen seems to be a subject of debate.  You see references to green linen that could very well be unscoured or perhaps unbleached linen.  However you also see primary documentation for dye receipts as well as dyers who will dye linen the "color green". Our linen is a light version of the saxon greens we have studied in extant dye books. Our linen is a light weight and well suited to Women’s clothing such as gowns, jackets, aprons, accessories and petticoats & accessories, Men’s jackets, linings and waistcoats as well as children’s garments.
