Fashions Fancy: Evening gowns for 1815-1825

Join Brooke for this three-day, In-Person Workshop Friday afternoon, August 23rd - Sunday, August 25th
Registration opens Wednesday, May 15 at 12:30 pm EDT

Between 1815-1825 gowns for evening dress transitioned from the simpler, columnar styles of the neoclassical era to the more fuller romantic styles of the 2nd quarter of the 19th century. Not only did waistlines lower from just below the bust to almost the waist, but sleeves puffed in Renaissance style, skirts flared with their fullness moving to the back, and trims exploded into a variety of tucks, flounces, ruching, & applique.  Participants will focus on creating an evening or ball gown from the period and its trimmings.
