Yardage:

100% Worsted Wool 48 inches wide

Duroys were one of the worsted “stuffs"  produced originally in Norwich and later in York.  They were woven plain in solid colors or two color stripes or figures unglazed or glazed.  They were  generally used for men's clothing but in the second half of the 18thc there is evidence of them being used in  women's clothing as well.  Particulary liked in the Southern colonies for summer wear, duroy had good body but was lightweight in contrast to "cloth" which encompassed the heavier broadcloths favored by the English.  Our fabric is well suited to Men's jackets, coats, waistcoats & breeches, Lady's gowns, riding habits, petticoats, jackets, bedgowns, aprons, and accesories as well as children's clothing.
