100% Worsted Wool  62 inches wide

Worsted “stuff” was a term that referred to a wide variety of worsted textiles produced originally in Norwich and later in York.  These lightweight goods were characterized by their tightly twisted yarn, fineness of weave and smooth finish.  This made the wool well suited to Men’s and Lady’s garments.  The grades of stuff varied from coarse to fine and could be plain or twill woven.  We have found this exact shade of green in a number of extant wool samples from worsteds to broadcloths including an un-named Merchant waste book we studied which referred to the color only as “green” and consistently throughout the book was this color. .  Our fabric is light weight, plain woven and is well suited to Lady’s gowns, jackets and petticoats, Men’s waistcoats, lightweight coats and jackets,  linings, aprons, mitts and other accessories as well as children’s gown
